SCORE – Integrated Community Development Program

The center of all our work is the communities we work with. We do community-based development projects in Primary Health Care, Water & Livelihood, and Education following our development policy. We integrate the three whenever feasible in what we call Integrated Community-based Development Program (ICDP). The following are some of our on-going activities.

In Primary Health Care Projects:

  • Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Clinic
  • Polyclinic
  • Health Education
  • Vaccination
  • Training of Traditional Birth Attendants
  • Health Extension works

In Water and Livelihood Projects:

  • Spring protection
  • Hand-dug wells
  • Drilling of wells
  • Ponds for cattle with filtered water for people
  • Sanitation and hygiene promotion
  • Livelihood improvement: goats pass-on project for women, energy saving stoves, vegetable cultivation, nutrition education, skills training for women, road improvement etc

In the Education Sector:

  • Support for Kindergartens
  • Three schools to 8th Grade (one school is part- boarding)
  • Computer training (3) and English language training (1)
  • Hostels (2)
  • Functional Adult Literacy
  • Alternative Basic Education
  • Working for schools (school directorship)
  • Lecturing on philosophy and theology
  • Conducting research on the Ethiopian tradition, liturgy, churches, and spirituality
